Sahib Mammadov

Executive Director

Mr. Mammadov holds a B.A. in Geography from Baku State University (1992) and a law degree from Odlar Yurdu University (2003). Additionally, he pursued further studies in human rights at the International Higher School for Human Rights in Warsaw, Poland (2002-2004).

 

His early career included roles such as First Deputy Head of the Yasamal District Executive Authority in Baku, responsible for humanitarian affairs, Head of the Department for Work with Territorial Administrative Bodies of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1992-1993).

 

From 1993 to 1997, Sahib Mammadov held the position of instructor and labor rights inspector at the Free Trade Union of Oil and Gas Industry Workers of Azerbaijan. Since 2000, he has served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Citizens' Labor Rights Protection League, a non-governmental organization.

 

Since 2019, he has been the Executive Director of the Social Research Center. He is the author of over 20 books and teaching materials, as well as numerous research papers. Mr. Mammadov has participated as a speaker and participant in several international conferences. He has also been elected to the State Support Council for Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of Azerbaijan in 2008, 2012, and 2016, and has been appointed by presidential decrees. Since 2018, he has been a member of the Azerbaijani Bar Association.
