The Social Research Center periodically conducts public opinion surveys aimed at studying the public attitude towards a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

According to the results of the survey conducted in February 2024, when asked, "Do you support the signing of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia?" 78.2% of respondents answered "yes, I support it," 19.5% answered "no, I do not support it," and 2.3% of respondents found it difficult to answer.

Despite Armenia's attempts to portray Azerbaijan as the aggressor in the international public opinion, surveys indicate that there is periodically an increasing positive trend regarding the Azerbaijani public's attitude towards a peace agreement.

Furthermore, according to previous surveys, the public in the country deems it appropriate to discuss a peace agreement directly, that is, in a bilateral format.

It is worth noting that as the age of respondents increases, there is a growth in positive attitudes towards the peace treaty. Among individuals with higher education, a positive disposition prevails more than among those with secondary education.

The survey was conducted from February 15 to 19, 2024, using Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) among 390 respondents over the age of 18. The sampling was determined proportionally to the population distribution of the country using a probability method while maintaining gender balance. The sample included 12 economic regions. To ensure randomness, telephone numbers of administrative districts and cities of the specified economic regions were systematically selected from the corresponding database using a special program, and calls were made. Anonymity was ensured in the surveys. Respondents were informed that the survey was conducted on a voluntary basis and that the results would be used only in anonymized form. Considering the number of respondents covered by the survey, the margin of error of the results is 5% with a 95% confidence interval.
