ESOMAR is a global professional association established in 1947, specializing in public opinion, sociological research, and marketing studies.
- ESOMAR stands for the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research, which is the original name of the organization.
- Today, ESOMAR has over 12,000 individual members across 135 countries, as well as more than 650 corporate members.
- The organization operates in the fields of marketing, public opinion, social research, and data analytics, and hosts annual congresses, virtual “Festival of Ideas” events, and other industry gatherings.
- ESOMAR also runs an online platform called “Research World”, which publishes original, theoretical, and practical analyses in the above-mentioned fields. With an annual global circulation of 20,000 copies, it is among the most widely read research publications in Europe.
- As part of its philanthropic efforts, ESOMAR has established the ESOMAR Foundation, which supports research by non-profit organizations, promotes education in marketing research in developing countries, assists students from underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds, and provides financial aid to researchers in need.
- As a professional association, ESOMAR also grants various awards to professionals in marketing research and analytics.
- Since 2021, ESOMAR has been presenting the prestigious “Insight250” award to 250 global leaders in the research field annually.
- In addition, ESOMAR presents several other awards each year, including the Young ESOMAR Society (YES!) Award, the Research Effectiveness Award, and the ESOMAR Partner Awards.
- The Social Research Center’s acceptance as a corporate member of ESOMAR means access to the full range of opportunities, resources, and recognition this global association offers — including eligibility for these prestigious awards. The Center will actively pursue engagement in these areas.
